Amanda Waldroupe is a freelance journalist and writer based in Portland, Oregon. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including The Guardian, New York, BKLYNR, the Brooklyn Rail, InvestigateWest, the Portland Tribune, and The Oregonian. She holds a master’s degree in literary reportage from New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, as well as degrees from Reed College and the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.

In the summer of 2021, she was a fellow in the Logan Nonfiction Program and has been an artist in residence at the Banff Centre’s Literary Journalism program and Alderworks Alaska. She is at work on her first book.
